Call for Papers

The Department of History at New Mexico State University and the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum are co-sponsoring a World War II home front symposium on the wartime labor emergency and its resolution. Expected topics to be covered include:

  • the mobilization of school children
  • the Women's Land Army
  • the antecedents of the Bracero program
  • and prisoner of war labor

The symposium will coincide with the opening of a major museum exhibit on POW labor use in NM agriculture at the NM Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum.
