Economic History of Developing Regions

CFP: inaugural issue

Inaugural Issue: Economic History of Developing Regions

Dear Economic Historian,

The South African Economic History Society is the largest Economic History society on the African continent. The society is proud to introduce our new journal - Economic History of Developing Regions, formerly the South African Journal of Economic History - now published by Taylor & Francis. The inaugural edition of the journal is due June 2010, and we are now actively soliciting submissions for this and future issues.

It has become increasingly apparent that historical events have a critical influence on economic development. Most studies of the economic past have, however, focused on the industrialized North. Economic History of Developing Regions promotes the study of economic change in the developing South, including Africa, Asia and Latin America. The journal will accept papers based on purely quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as any combination of the two. We seek submissions with an economic history focus from disciplines such as general history, cliometrics, business history, labour history, financial history, development studies and others.
