A symposium in Sydney, 19 November

Global Consumers' Co-operatives: A Historical Perspective

19 November
The Women's College, The University of Sydney, Australia

This symposium brings together a number of international researchers examining the issue of the history of consumer co-operatives. The symposium raises a number of issues, particularly why consumer co-operatives have been more successful in some countries and regions than others. The speakers are members of a steering committee overseeing the Global Consumers' Co-operative Project, which plans to produce a major publication in 2012, the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives.

The symposium is organised by the Co-operatives Research Group, Faculty of Economics and Business, The University of Sydney and we acknowledge the financial support of the Faculty of Economics and Business, The University of Sydney. The symposium registration form and programme are available at http://sydney.edu.au/business/research/co-operatives.
