Poster exhibition: The art of preventive health and safety in Europe

The European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) is pleased to invite you to its poster exhibition and film screenings on “The art of preventive health and safety in Europe”. Historical and vintage posters from various European countries will be exhibited to show how graphic design has been used to promote health and safety prevention in more than 20 different cultural environments.

The exhibition highlights how workplace health and safety messages and slogans have evolved, from blaming individual workers for accidents and mistakes to promoting a more proactive approach to prevention. The body of work proposed also demonstrates the historical importance of occupational health and safety for the European trade union movement.

From an artistic point of view, the exhibition offers a journey through the art of the 20th century and across key national artistic and graphic movements.
