ELHN Conference in Barcelona, 16-19 June 2026

From June 16 to 19, 2026, the 6th Conference of the European Labour History Network was held in Barcelona. It was organized by the Work, Institutions and Gender research group at the University of Barcelona and took place at the Faculty of Geography and History, located in the city's historic district. Eighteen of the twenty Working Groups that make up the Association's structure presented panels and papers. A total of 345 people registered. There were 102 sessions, and 379 papers were presented alongside two special sessions. There were two keynote speeches (Paula Rodriguez Modroño, The Feminisation of the Platform Economy: Restructuring Precarities and Inequalities, and Evelyn Hu-DeHart, Chinese Labor Migrants and the Abolition of African Slavery in the Americas). The meeting was very fruitful both on a scientific level and in terms of exchanges among members of the different Working Groups, serving as a great space to deepen human relationships and generate new projects.
