CfP: Métiers d’autrefois en Europe occidentale. De l’artisanat à l’usine (années 1830 – années 1930)
Commencée au XVIIIe siècle en Angleterre, la Révolution industrielle gagne la Belgique puis la France avant d’atteindre les espaces germaniques mais aussi les contrées septentrionales de l’Espagne et de l’Italie au cours du XIXe siècle. D’une manière de plus en plus active se développe un artisanat qui, au fil du temps et par des mutations techniques, s’industrialise largement. S’opère alors une mutation de bien des métiers au point que certains disparaissent ou se trouvent profondément bouleversés alors qu’éclate la Deuxième Guerre mondiale.

Ce dossier s’intéresse à l’histoire de la justice analysée à travers le prisme des épidémies de l’Antiquité jusqu’à nos jours.

The Social History Society has released an official statement on the impact of COVID-19 on the working lives of historians, and the implications for the future of our discipline.
The practice of social and cultural history has always depended on the contributions of scholars across all career stages. From the undergraduate essay to the book-length studies of established scholars, historical research can make us reflect on our own practice and think differently about our own research areas.
CfA: PhD fellowships - Global History of Empires
The international joint doctoral program Global History of Empire is announcing the call for applications for admission in 2020. Students enrolled in the program enjoy qualified co-supervision of their dissertation research by the leading faculty of University of Turin and Higher School of Economics (Moscow and St Petersburg), the intensive introductory seminar with world experts on the global dimensions of histories of empires, as well as joint dissertation workshops and summer schools co-organized by the universities in this partnership :
