The World History Association, in association with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi, the Vietnam History Association, and Hawaii Pacific University, has issued a Call or Papers for a Symposium on Vietnam in World History.

Submissions are welcome which pursue interdisciplinary, local-to global, comparative, or international approaches so as to provide an opportunity for dialogue among world historians and scholars of Vietnamese Studies.

The IISH has 6 vacancies for two new research projects.

The Association of Indian Labour Historians invites proposals for its Tenth International Conference on Labour History in March 2014. The theme for the conference is Labour History: A Return to Politics?

My new biography, *Upton Sinclair; California Socialist, Celebrity Intellectual*, will be released in September from the University of Nebraska Press. My book focuses on a number of aspects of Sinclair that have not been emphasized in prior biographies, including his relationship to labor, both organized and unorganized.

*Archivos de historia de la izquierda y el movimiento obrero* is a new academic journal published in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It deals with social, political and intellectual history of the labor movement and the Left, both in Argentina and abroad. It is published twice a year. Two numbers have appeared so far, and number 3 is expected for late September.
