El 1 de abril de 2019 se cumplen 80 años del fin de la guerra civil española. El Aula de Historia Social de la UCM y la Fundación Pablo Iglesias organizan una lectura abierta de cartas, poemas, testimonios o diarios escritos durante o inmediatamente después del conflicto.

CfP: Slavery in the Middle East and North Africa in the 19th and 20th Centuries
We are pleased to invite contributions to an edited volume on the theme of Slavery in the Middle East and North Africa in the 19th and 20th Centuries. The volume will be edited by Janet Afary and Eric Massie and will be published by I.B. Tauris as part of its series on Sex, Marriage, and the Family in the Middle East (Series Editors: Janet Afary and Claudia Yaghoobi).
Articles addressing the following themes are particularly encouraged, but all articles related to slavery in the Middle East and North Africa during the 19th and 20th centuries will be considered:
CfP: Labor in the Creative Industries: The Case of Fashion
On the occasion of the exhibition “Tomorrowear. A French Story” at Villa Stenersen, this international conference will shed new light on labor in the creative industries, with a special focus on fashion. The present conference intends to do so without chronological nor geographical limitations.
